Sangria

Spanish

Sangria was invented as a way to use leftover wine. It is a fun and refreshing drink on a hot day.
Ingredients
2 quarts red wine
3/4 cup sugar, boiled in 3/4 cup water
1 lemon, juiced
3 oranges, juiced
1 orange, sliced
1 lime, sliced
1/2 cup pineapple chunks (optional)
 
Steps
1 Combine and let sit for 4 hours.


Yield
quarts  use metric
original recipe yield: 2 Quarts
Notes Almaden red mountain burgundy worked well for me. Makes about 2 quarts.
