      Steps

        | 1  | Whisk sugar, cornstarch, and cocoa in a saucepan. Whisk in milk. |  
  |  | 2   | Over medium heat, stirring constantly with whisk, cook until all cocoa lumps dissolve, and mixture thickens slightly (the consistency should be like heavy cream). |  
  |  | 3   | Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter. |  
  |  | 4   | When completely cooled, pour into molds and freeze until firm. |
