Donovon's Orange Pound Cake

American

Our friends, Pat and Richard Donovon, always share their amazing orange crop with us. I concocted this cake in their honor.
Ingredients
3/4 cup butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup sour cream or yogurt
2 tablespoons orange zest
3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
1 1/2 cup white flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
 
Steps
1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour an 8"x4" loaf pan.

2 Mix butter and sugar together until well blended.

3 Add eggs, vanilla, sour cream, zest and juice and blend until smooth.

4 Add flour and baking powder. Stir until just blended. Pour into prepared pan.

5 Bake for 35-45 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
